Frequently asked questions

How much does a CoC cost?

For an average house, usually between R1,800 and R2,500. The final price depends on the size of the property and whether any work is needed before the certificate can be issued.

How long does a CoC inspection take?

The time required depends on the size and complexity of the property, but most residential inspections can be completed within a few hours.

What happens if my property doesn't pass the inspection?

If any non-compliant items are found, we'll provide a detailed explanation and a quotation for the necessary repairs. Once these issues have been corrected and the installation complies with the regulations, the Certificate of Compliance can be issued.

Does a CoC guarantee that there will never be electrical problems?

A CoC confirms that the electrical installation complied with the applicable regulations at the time of the inspection. Regular maintenance and inspections remain important to ensure continued safety and reliability.
